Chelsey earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from Liberty University in 2009. After graduating from LU, she worked as an aide for Rehab Associates in the Forest clinic, and then decided to pursue her Associates of Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. She graduated from JCHS in 2012 with recognition for clinical excellence. Chelsey has been working in the Brookneal clinic for years and is now working in the Forest interest. She has an interest in general orthopedics and sports rehab.

Dr. Justin Matherly is from Chatham, Virginia. He played baseball and golf for Chatham High School and attended the University of Lynchburg where he received his bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology in 2021. Justin attended the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Lynchburg where he graduated in 2024. Dr. Matherly lives in Lynchburg, Virginia with his wife Micah and their dog Houston. He enjoys playing disc golf and pickleball, lifting weights, and spending time outdoors. Justin has an interest in general orthopedics and sports rehab.

Joelyn Cunningham graduated from Emory and Henry School of Health Sciences in May 2018 and was part of the inaugural cohort. She was the starting shortstop for the Forum Panther’s softball team her first 2 years of undergrad and loves staying physically active by doing Beachbody workouts. She is a huge Green Bay Packers and UVA fan, and love listening to bluegrass music. Dr. Cunningham plans to specialize in geriatric physical therapy.
